Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — Featuring RDA
> Disc brake rotors are a seriously important bit of kit in your Peugeot or Citroen's braking setup. They're what your brake pads grab onto to slow you down. Over time, these rotors can wear out, warp, or even crack from all the heat and friction, especially if you're giving it a good thrashing around town in your Peugeot 308 or Citroen C4.

• Hearing some pretty awful squealing or grinding when you hit the brakes?
• Feeling a bit of a wobble or thumping in the brake pedal?
• Noticing it's taking longer to pull up than usual?
• Seeing some nasty scoring, cracks, or rust patches on the rotor itself?

WOF Woes?
Worn or dodgy brake rotors are a dead cert for failing your WOF here in NZ. Rotors need to be within a certain thickness and free from major damage to pass the test.

Gear you'll need: Jack and stands (never skip on safety!), wheel brace, socket set, torque wrench, brake cleaner, rotor removal tool (might come in handy).

Before you get cracking, mate, safety first! We're dealing with brakes here, so no skimping. Grab yourself some safety glasses to keep the crud out of your peepers, and a decent set of nitrile gloves to keep the hands clean from brake dust. Give those new rotors a good blast with Brake Cleaner to get rid of any factory coatings. And when you're putting things back together, a touch of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots will keep everything moving smoothly. Never get under a car supported only by a jack!
