Description

Rotor Replacement for Your Volvo — With RDA
> Your Volvo's disc brake rotors are a seriously important bit of kit. They put up with a lot, especially on the T5 and Turbo models, and wear down over time. That's why keeping them in good nick is a no-brainer for safety.
Spotting Trouble: Signs You Need New Rotors
• Your brake pedal's doing the Macarena (vibrating).
• The brakes are squealing like a stuck pig.
• It feels like you're taking forever to stop.
• The rotor's looking worse for wear (scoring or rust).
• Your brake pads are wearing unevenly.
WOF Worries?
Dodgy brake rotors are a surefire way to fail your WOF here in New Zealand. They need to be above the minimum thickness and without cracks to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you tackle those rotors, mate, let's get our ducks in a row. Safety first, eh?
• Safety Glasses: Don't muck around with your eyes. Safety Glasses are cheap as chips and could save you a trip to the doctor.
• Nitrile Gloves: Keep those mitts clean and protected from brake dust and grime. Grab some Nitrile Gloves – your hands will thank you for it.
• Brake Cleaner: Blast away that brake dust and grime. A can of Brake Cleaner will make the job cleaner and easier.
• Caliper Grease: A little dab of anti-seize caliper grease ensures smooth sailing and prevents annoying squeals. It's cheap insurance!

Bob's Two Cents
Don't muck around with worn brake rotors – they're not worth the risk. Replacing them will make your Volvo safer and drive better, especially the 850 T5-R or V70 Turbo. Head down to Bob's Shop at CARFIX, and we'll sort you out with the right parts!
Fitment Notes
Double-check you've got the right rotor size for your Volvo. Some models have different sizes depending on the trim. And make sure they're compatible with your ABS system before you get started.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
