AUCKLAND, 3 May 2026 — CARFIX has completed one of its largest data operations to date, mapping more than 206,000 cross-references between vehicle makers' original part numbers and the aftermarket parts that replace them. The store grew from about 10,000 links to over 206,000 in a single ingestion run across hundreds of data files.
Cross-references are how a parts expert knows that the number stamped on an old part and the number on a new box mean the same thing. Holding them at scale lets CARFIX prove a match instead of guessing one.
The store has kept growing since. It now holds more than 800,000 cross-references, and each one has to pass verification before it can put a part in front of a customer.

The number on the old part is the most honest clue you've got. When I can trace it to the new part, I know it's right.
