AUCKLAND, 2 May 2026 — CARFIX has switched on an automated video engine that matches how-to repair videos to individual cars. It reads each video against the make, model, year and the job being done. It scores the match and keeps only the five strongest for every combination of car and job.

The engine works around the clock. It puts the cars people actually drive at the front of the queue. More than 42,000 vehicle pages are in its sights, and the library grows every day.

Six months on, the engine has built more than 1.2 million links between videos and the cars they show. That is a how-to library built on a world scale, and it keeps growing every day.

If you're doing the job yourself, the right video is half the job. Now every car has its own shortlist, picked for that car.
