Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — With RDA
> Disc brake rotors are the unsung heroes of your Mercedes-Benz's braking. They're what your brake pads grab onto to bring you to a halt. Over time, especially in heavier cars like the S-Class and SL, they can wear, warp, or even crack from all the heat and pressure.
Spotting the Warning Signs
• Your brake pedal's got the jitters (pulsating or vibrating).
• Brakes are making a racket (squealing or grinding).
• Taking longer to pull up at the lights.
• Rotors looking worse for wear (cracks or deep grooves).
• Your pads are wearing unevenly.
WOF Woes?
Dodgy disc brake rotors are a surefire way to fail your WOF here in New Zealand. They need to be above the minimum thickness and free from cracks to pass the test.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
