Last-of-line parts stay on sale until they're really gone
New Zealand runs one of the oldest car fleets in the developed world. CARFIX now keeps discontinued parts on sale for as long as genuine stock remains in the country.

AUCKLAND, 27 October 2026 — New Zealand's light passenger vehicles average around 15 years old, and more than four in ten light vehicles are 15 or older. Keeping those cars running means finding parts that manufacturers have stopped making.
CARFIX now runs a nightly rule for discontinued parts. A part stays on sale while more than one is held in New Zealand and it has a clean supply record over the last 90 days. If a newer replacement exists, the owner is pointed to it instead.
The rule does two jobs at once: older cars keep their parts for longer, and nobody pays for a part that can't be sent.

Old cars deserve parts too. I'll keep the last ones findable, and I'll never take your money for one nobody can send.
