Swapping Out Your Subaru's Disc Brake Rotors — RDA Edition
> Your Subaru's disc brake rotors are vital. They take a hammering, and over time, they wear down, warp, or corrode – especially on Foresters and Outbacks hitting both city streets and the odd dusty metal track. That means dodgy braking and potential WOF woes.
Spotting the Signs of Dodgy Rotors
• Squealing like a pig or grinding when you hit the brakes
• The brake pedal's got the shakes
• Taking longer to pull up than you'd like
• Rotors look scored, rusty, or just plain rooted
• Brake pads wearing unevenly - not ideal!
WOF Woes?
Worn or damaged brake rotors are a surefire way to fail a WOF. They need to be within thickness specs and free from major damage to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Alright, before you get cracking, a bit of housekeeping and safety, eh? This is a no-brainer.
• Safety First, Mates!: Never, ever get under a car supported only by a jack. Use proper stands – your life's worth more than a cafe lunch.
• Keep it Clean: Grab a can of Brake Cleaner to blast away all that nasty carbon dust. Your lungs will thank you.
• Hand Protection: Those rotors can be sharp and grimy. A pair of Nitrile Gloves will keep your hands clean and protected.
• Grease is the Word: A wee dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots will make life easier next time you're in there.
Bob's Two Cents
Don't muck around with worn brake rotors – they're critical for safety. Replacing them keeps your braking top-notch and stops other parts from getting damaged. RDA rotors are a good start, but we've got plenty of options at CARFIX. Pop into Bob's Shop for a yarn – I'll help you sort out exactly what you need for your Subaru!
Fitment Notes
Make sure you get the right rotor size and type for your Subaru. Some models, like the Legacy GT, have different specs. Always replace rotors in pairs for even braking. Bob's got your back if you need help!
