Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — The RDA Way
> Your Subaru Legacy or Forester's disc brake rotors are the unsung heroes of your braking system. Over time, they cop a beating from friction and heat, which can make your brakes less effective, especially when you're dealing with everyday traffic and all sorts of road conditions.
Spotting the Warning Signs
• Hear any squealing or grinding when you hit the brakes?
• Feel a wobble or pulsing through the brake pedal?
• Taking longer to pull up to a stop than usual?
• See any nasty scoring, rust, or other damage on the rotor itself?
• Notice your brake pads wearing unevenly?
WOF Woes?
Worn or dodgy brake rotors are a surefire way to fail your WOF here in NZ. Your rotors need to be above the minimum thickness and free from major cracks or damage to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
• Safety First, Mates!: Chuck on some safety glasses to keep any rust or brake dust out of your peepers. And grab some nitrile gloves to keep your hands clean from all the brake dust and grime. Seriously, brake dust is nasty stuff.
• Cleanliness is Key: Before you even think about putting those new rotors on, give everything a good blast with some Brake Cleaner. Get rid of all that old brake dust and any other gunk that's built up.
• Stopping Squeaks: A little smear of anti-seize caliper grease on the caliper bolts and the back of the brake pads will stop annoying squeaks later on. Trust me, your ears will thank you.
