Description

Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — With RDA
> Disc brake rotors are the unsung heroes in your Land Rover's braking setup. Over time, they cop a beating from friction and heat, more so if you're always on the anchors in a hefty SUV like the Range Rover or Discovery.
What Clued You In?
• Brake pedal doing the Macarena (pulsating or vibrating)
• Sounds like a banshee when you brake (squealing or grinding)
• Taking forever and a day to stop
• Rotors look like they've been attacked by a grinder
• Brake pads wearing unevenly
WOF Woes?
Dodgy brake rotors are a surefire way to fail your WOF here in NZ. They gotta be above the minimum thickness and free from cracks or major scoring to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Alright, before you get cracking, let's make sure you're sorted. Brakes are no joke, so safety first!
• Safety Glasses: Keep those peepers safe from flying dust and debris. Trust me, you don't want metal in your eye.
• Nitrile Gloves: Brake dust is nasty stuff. A good pair of Nitrile Gloves will keep your hands clean and protected.
• Brake Cleaner: This stuff is gold for blasting away brake dust and grime. Makes everything easier to work on and helps your new rotors bed in properly. Grab a can of Brake Cleaner.
• Caliper Grease: A wee dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the caliper bolts will keep everything moving smoothly and prevent annoying squeals. Worth its weight in gold.

And a golden safety rule: Never, ever get under a car that's only supported by a jack. Use proper stands – your life's worth it!
Expert Advice
Dodgy brake rotors will ruin the safety and performance of your Land Rover. Slapping in new ones makes sure you can stop on a dime and stops other brake bits from getting damaged. Pop over to Bob's Shop for a yarn – I'm always here to help you pick the right part for your Land Rover.
Fitment Notes
Make sure you double-check you've got the right rotor size and specs for your Land Rover model and year. Some models have different rotor designs or need special tools to fit.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
