Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — The DBA Way
> Your Mitsubishi Diamante or Magna's disc brake rotors are what your brake pads squeeze against to bring you to a halt. Over time, these rotors can get worn, warped, or even cracked from all the heat and hard work, especially if you're givin' it heaps on the open road.
Spotting the Warning Signs
• That brake pedal doin' the shimmy? Vibration's a tell-tale sign.
• Brakes soundin' like a rusty gate? Squealing or grinding ain't good.
• Takin' forever to pull up? Increased stopping distance is a worry.
• Rotors lookin' like the surface of the moon? Cracks or grooves are a dead giveaway.
• Brake pads wearin' unevenly? It's a sign that something's not quite right.
Keen for a WOF Pass?
Worn or dodgy disc brake rotors are a surefire way to fail your WOF here in NZ. Rotors gotta be up to scratch with minimum thickness and no nasty cracks to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Alright, before you get stuck in, here's a few must-haves to make the job safer and smoother:
• Safety First, Mates! Never, ever get under a car that's only held up by a jack. Use proper jack stands. And chuck on some safety glasses to keep the grit out of your eyes.
• Keep it Clean: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Grab a can of Brake Cleaner to blast away the muck before you start. Makes life easier, and keeps things healthier.
• Glove Up: Protect your hands with some nitrile gloves. Keeps the grease and grime off your skin.
• Lube is Your Friend: A little anti-seize caliper grease on the caliper bolts will make your life a heck of a lot easier next time you're in there. Trust me.

• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
