Description

Swapping Out Those Brake Pads — RDA Style
> Brake pads, eh? They're what slows you down, turning your car's go-juice into heat by squeezing those rotors. Over time, they wear down, especially on bigger rigs like the Hyundai Santa Fe or when you're giving it heaps on those winding Kiwi roads. So, if your brakes are feeling a bit off, it might be time for a change.
Tell-tale Signs You've Landed Here
• Brakes squealing like a piglet? That's a bad sign.
• Taking longer to pull up at the lights?
• Brake pedal feeling soft as butter?
• Pads look thinner than a cafe lunch?
• That pesky brake light's lit up on your dash?
WOF Woes?
Worn brake pads are a classic WOF fail. They gotta be thick enough to stop you safely. Check the Land Transport NZ guidelines to be sure.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you get cracking, mate, safety first! Never get under a car supported only by a jack. Use proper jack stands. Grab some Nitrile Gloves to keep your hands clean from that brake dust. And speaking of dust, give everything a good blast with Brake Cleaner to get rid of that nasty carbon buildup. A wee dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots will keep things smooth, too. Don't forget your safety glasses – you don't want any of that brake dust in your eyes!
Bob's Two Cents
Keeping your brakes in top nick is a no-brainer, especially if you're carting the family around in a Hyundai Santa Fe or Kia Sorento. Pop into Bob's Shop for a yarn, and we'll sort you out with the right pads for your ride!
Fitment Notes
Make sure these pads are the right fit for your specific model and caliper type. Even within the same year, there can be differences. Double-check those manufacturer's specs or have a chat with your local mechanic to be sure.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
