Land Rover Brake Pad Replacement — RDA Edition
> G'day mate! Brake pads are like the jandals of your Land Rover – they wear out over time. When the friction's gone, stopping becomes a lottery, and you risk chewing up your rotors, especially if you're hauling loads or hitting those tough conditions in your Range Rover or Discovery.
Spotting the Trouble - Time for New Pads?
• Brakes sound like a flock of seagulls (squealing or grinding)
• Pedal feels soft or the stopping distance is getting longer than a queue for a pie at halftime.
• The steering wheel's doing the Macarena when you brake?
• Pads look thinner than a cafe lunch sandwich?
• That little light on the dash is lighting up like a Christmas tree?
Will it pass WOF?
Dodgy brakes are a surefire way to fail your WOF. Those pads need enough meat to pull you up safely. Make sure your Land Rover's stoppers are up to scratch for that Warrant of Fitness.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you get cracking on those brakes, remember safety first, eh? Never get under a car supported only by a jack – axle stands are your best mate here. Grab some Nitrile Gloves to keep the hands clean and a pair of safety glasses to protect those eyes from brake dust. Give everything a good blast with Brake Cleaner to get rid of the muck and keep those new pads happy with some anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots.
Expert Recommendation
Keeping your brakes in top nick is a no-brainer for safety. RDA brake pads are a solid choice for the price.
Fitment Notes
Double-check these pads fit your specific Land Rover – front and rear pads can be different.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
