D.I.Y. Brake Pad Swap for Your Mitsubishi — with RDA!
> Brake pads? They're the bit that clamps down on your brake rotors, using friction to slow you down. Like the tread on your tyres, they wear out, especially on older Mitsubishis like the Sigma, Scorpion, and early Pajero/Triton. Tough conditions and age will get the better of them eventually.
Uh Oh, Are Your Brakes Saying This?
• Squealing like a pig or grinding like you're parked on a gravel road?
• Taking forever and a day to stop?
• The steering wheel or pedal is shaking like a paint mixer when you hit the brakes?
• Pedal feels soft as butter?
• Pads look thinner than a cafe lunch napkin (down to 3mm or less)?
Will it pass WOF?
No way, mate. Dodgy brakes are a big no-no and will fail your WOF faster than you can say "safety hazard." You need good pads and proper braking to pass, no exceptions.
Crack at it Yourself, or Book it In?
Difficulty: 5/10 (A Decent Saturday Arvo Job)

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you start swinging spanners, grab these to make the job safer and easier:
• Safety First: Never, ever get under a car supported only by a jack. Use proper Jack Stands. Safety glasses are a no-brainer to keep brake dust out of your eyes.
• Keep it Clean: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Use Brake Cleaner to blast it away. Wear Nitrile Gloves to protect your skin.
• Stop the Squeal: A dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the caliper contact points will help keep things quiet.
Expert Recommendation
Here at CARFIX, we know brakes are key, especially on older Mitsis doing the daily grind or a bit of light off-roading. Neglecting worn pads ain't worth it; you'll end up chewing through your rotors and that's a proper pain in the wallet. These RDA RDB170 pads are a solid choice for your old-school Mitsubishi, giving you good bang for your buck. Give Bob @ CARFIX a bell and he'll sort you out with the right parts. Fitment Notes
These pads are made for a bunch of classic Mitsubishis, including the Sigma, Scorpion (1979-1982), and early Pajero/Montero/Triton/L200 models from 1980 to 1991. Double-check your year, make, and model though, because things can vary even within the same model range.

🛠️ Bob's Pro Tip: Do the Job Right!
🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
