Description

Brake Pad Replacement: The RDA Way
> Brake pads, eh? They're the unsung heroes that squeeze those rotors tight, turning 'go' into 'whoa'. But like a good pair of gumboots, they wear out over time. Especially if you're giving your Ford Laser or Suzuki Baleno a hiding on those winding Kiwi roads, you'll notice the difference when the brakes aren't up to scratch.

Tell-tale Signs You've Found Yourself Here
• Brakes squealing like a stuck pig?
• Taking longer to pull up than a cafe lunch queue?
• Steering wheel doing the haka when you brake?
• Brake pedal feeling softer than a newborn lamb?
• Pads thinner than a WOF inspector's patience (less than 3mm)?

WOF Woes?
Worn brake pads? Mate, that's a guaranteed WOF failure. No arguments. You need good brakes to keep you, your mates, and everyone else on the road safe and sound.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
