Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — RDA Style
> Disc brake rotors are key to your Nissan's brakes. They wear down over time from the pads rubbing on them, especially if you're doing a lot of city driving or pushing it in a 350Z. If they're worn, your braking won't be as good, and that's not safe.
What's Telling You It's Time?
• Brakes are squealing or grinding – sounds like you're trying to stop a train!
• The brake pedal is vibrating or feels like it's pulsing. That's not a good sign.
• It takes longer to stop than it used to. Scary stuff.
• You can see grooves or damage on the rotor itself. Ouch.
• Your brake pads are wearing down unevenly. That's just not right.
WOF Worries?
If your brake rotors are looking sad, it's a no-brainer you might fail your WOF. They need to be a certain thickness and without too much damage to pass the test.

Difficulty: 6/10
Time Needed: An hour or two per rotor
What You'll Need: Jack and stands (never get under a car only supported by a jack!), lug wrench, socket set, torque wrench, and some brake cleaner. A brake caliper tool might come in handy too.
🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you get stuck in, grab these must-haves to make the job safer and easier:
• Safety First: Chuck on some Safety Glasses to keep the brake dust out of your eyes, and a pair of Nitrile Gloves to protect your hands from the grime.
• Brake Dust Be Gone: Give those new rotors (and calipers) a good blast with Brake Cleaner to get rid of any manufacturing oils or dust. Gets them ready for action.
• Stop the Squeal: A wee dab of anti-seize Caliper Grease on the caliper pins will keep things moving smoothly and quietly. Nobody likes squeaky brakes!

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
