Swapping Your Porsche's Brake Rotors — The RDA Way
> Disc brake rotors are absolutely crucial for keeping your Porsche braking sharp. Over time, they take a hammering from heat and friction, which blunts your stopping power and can get hairy, especially if you drive it hard like it was made to.
Spotting the Warning Signs
• Brakes making a racket? Squealing or grinding sounds are a dead giveaway.
• Feeling a judder through the pedal when you brake?
• Taking longer to pull up than usual?
• Rotors looking rough? Scratches, cracks, or rust are bad news.
• Pads wearing unevenly?
WOF Worries?
Dodgy brake rotors are a quick way to fail a WOF here in NZ. They need to be above the minimum thickness and free from cracks to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you even crack a bolt, safety first, eh? Never, ever get under a car supported only by a jack. Get yourself some proper jack stands – your life's worth it. Grab some Nitrile Gloves to keep the hands clean and a good set of Safety Glasses to keep the brake dust out of your eyes when you inevitably blast your calipers with Brake Cleaner. Speaking of which, brake cleaner is your best mate for this job – it'll make quick work of all that carbon dust. Lastly, a wee smear of anti-seize compound on the caliper bolts will make life easier next time.

Fitment Notes
Double-check this rotor fits your exact Porsche model and year – they can be a bit fussy. Always check your service manual for the right way to do things and torque settings.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
