Swapping Out Your Volvo's Brake Rotors — RDA Edition
> Your Volvo's brake rotors are prime for replacement after years of service. They take a beating from heat, wear, and corrosion, especially on trusty old models like the 240 and 260. Keep 'em tip-top for safe stopping!
Uh Oh... Symptoms of Dodgy Rotors
• Brakes sound like a flock of seagulls (squealing).
• The brake pedal's vibrating like crazy.
• Taking longer to pull up at the lights.
• Rotors look scored, rusty, or just plain sad.
• Brake pads wearing unevenly – never a good sign.
Will it pass WOF?
Buggered brake rotors are a surefire way to fail a WOF here in NZ. They gotta be above the minimum thickness and in decent nick to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you get cracking, mate, safety first! Grab some safety glasses to keep the crud out of your eyes, and a pair of nitrile gloves to keep your hands clean. Brake dust is nasty stuff. Give those new rotors a good blast with some brake cleaner before you fit them – gets rid of any factory gunk. And a wee dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the caliper bolts will make life easier next time around.
Expert Recommendation
Worn rotors mean dodgy stopping, plain and simple. Replacing them on your Volvo 240 or 260 will give you back that confident feeling on the road. RDA is a dependable brand, but CARFIX has a bunch of options to suit your wallet. Bob's always around to point you in the right direction. Pop into Bob's Shop for a yarn!
Fitment Notes
Double-check these rotors fit your exact Volvo 240 or 260 model and year. Rotor sizes can vary. Always do both sides (axle) at the same time for even braking.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
