Description

Swapping Out Those Brake Pads — TRW Style
> Your Toyota Chaser, Mark II, or Crown relies on its brake pads, and let's be honest, they don't last forever. As they wear, your braking gets dodgy and you risk wrecking your rotors. If you drive one of these beauts hard, treat it to some top-notch brake pads for safety's sake.
How'd You End Up Here, Bro?
• Brakes screamin' like a banshee?
• Taking longer to pull up at the lights?
• Pedal pulsates like a dodgy washing machine?
• Pads look thinner than a cafe lunch slice?
• Dashboard light's on the blink?
WOF Woes?
Bald brake pads are a surefire WOF fail here in NZ. They gotta be thick enough to stop you safely. Give 'em a regular squiz to stay legal.
DIY or Hand It Over?
Difficulty: 6/10
Time Needed: 2-3 hours
Gear You'll Need: Jack and stands, wrench set, socket set, brake cleaner, torque wrench, G-clamp or brake spreader.
🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you dive in, safety first, yeah? Grab some safety glasses to keep the brake dust out of your peepers and a pair of nitrile gloves to keep your hands clean. Brake dust is nasty stuff! Once you've got the old pads off, give everything a good blast with some Brake Cleaner to get rid of all that carbon dust. And when you're putting the new pads in, a smear of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots will keep things moving smoothly.
Bob's Two Cents
Swapping brake pads is key to keeping your Toyota Chaser, Mark II, or Crown pulling up safely. TRW's a good bet, but CARFIX has choices for every budget. Pop into Bob's Shop, and we'll sort you out with the right bits for your Toyota.
Fitment Notes
Make sure these pads are the right fit for your Chaser, Mark II, Crown, Avalon/Pronard, or Cresta. Some models have different setups. Double-check those part numbers before you get cracking!

🛠️ Bob's Pro Tip: Do the Job Right!
> If you're swapping out these parts on your vehicle;Pronard, don't skimp on fresh rotors. Check out our compatible TRW Disc Brake Rotors (Part No. DF1431S) to ensure a perfect bed-in and get the job done properly first time!

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
