Ford Transit Brake Pad Swap — With TRW
> Brake pads are mission-critical on a Ford Transit, especially if you're hauling loads or just clocking up the KMs doing deliveries. These wear out over time, no doubt about it, and worn pads mean dodgy stopping. This guide is for 2006-2014 models.
Spotting the Warning Signs
• Brakes making a racket? Squealing or grinding noises are a dead giveaway.
• Taking longer to stop than usual? Not ideal, mate.
• That little brake warning light's lit up on your dash?
• Had a peek and the pads look thinner than a cafe lunch?
• Feeling a wobble or judder through the brake pedal?
WOF Woes?
Worn brake pads are a surefire way to fail a WOF. They need to be thick enough to pull you up safely. Check the official Land Transport NZ guidelines to be 100% sure.

Bob's Two Cents
Keeping your brake pads in good nick is a no-brainer for safety. If they're worn, you're not stopping as quickly, and that's a risk you just don't need. Pop into Bob's Shop and we'll get you sorted!
🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
• Safety First, Mates! Never, ever get under your Transit supported only by a jack. Always use proper jack stands. Safety glasses are cheap insurance against brake dust in your eyes.
• Keep it Clean: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Grab a can of Brake Cleaner to blast away the muck. It'll help the new pads bed in properly. Plus, a clean workspace is a happy workspace.
• Glove Up: Protect your hands with some heavy-duty Nitrile Gloves. Brake cleaner and old brake dust aren't exactly kind to the skin.
• Grease is the Word: Use a dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the caliper pins and pad contact points. This stops things seizing up and keeps everything moving smoothly.
Fitment Notes
Double-check these pads fit your exact Ford Transit year and model (2006-2014). Make sure they match your brake system (like ABS) and rotor size. Bob's always here to help if you get stuck. Swing by the shop, eh? Bob's the name!

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
