Swapping Out Those Brake Pads — TRW Style
> Brake pads are the unsung heroes of your braking system. They're the friction fighters that clamp down on your rotors, turning speed into a controlled stop. But, like a good pair of jandals, they wear out over time. Especially if you're tackling tough conditions in a Mitsubishi Delica or hauling a load in your Pajero. Keep them mean machines safe!
Uh Oh, Sounds Like You've Got Brake Troubles:
• Brakes squealing like a gutted pig or grinding like dusty metal tracks?
• Brake pedal feeling softer than a cafe lunch?
• Steering wheel doing the shimmy when you brake?
• Taking longer to stop than you'd like?
• Dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree with a brake warning?
WOF Woes?
Yep, dodgey brake pads are a guaranteed WOF fail here in New Zealand. You need enough meat left on those pads to stop safely, or it's back to the drawing board.

Expert Recommendation
Bob at CARFIX reckons you should jump on those brake pads the moment they start playing up. Letting them go too long can wreck your rotors and cost you a mint. TRW pads are a no-brainer – they're tough, reliable, and work a treat whether you're doing the school run in your Renault Koleos or hitting the trails in your Mitsubishi Pajero. 🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Alright, time to get those brakes sorted the Kiwi way! Before you even think about touching that lug wrench, let's talk safety and a few must-haves to make this job a piece of cake.
• Safety First, Mate!: Never, ever get under a car that's only held up by a jack. Use proper Jack Stands. No exceptions! And don't forget those Safety Glasses to keep the brake dust out of your peepers.
• Keep it Clean: Brakes create a heap of nasty dust. Grab some Nitrile Gloves to protect your hands from the grime. Trust me, you don't want that stuff soaking into your skin.
• The Magic Touch: A can of Brake Cleaner is your best mate for blasting away brake dust and keeping everything clean. Give those rotors a good spray down too!
• Don't Forget the Lube: A little Caliper Grease on the caliper pins will keep everything sliding smoothly. This stops the brakes from binding and wearing unevenly. A good quality anti-seize is perfect.
Fitment Notes
These brake pads are sweet as for a stack of Mitsubishi models, including the Delica, L300, L400, Pajero, Montero, Diamante, and Magna from way back in the 90s and early 2000s, plus the newer Renault Koleos Sce. Always double-check your exact year, model, and sub-model – brake setups can be different even within the same model range, ay!

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
