Description

Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — TRW Style
> Disc brake rotors are dead important for stoppin' your Ford Falcon or Fairmont, givin' your brake pads somethin' to bite on. Over time, they can wear thin, warp, or even crack, especially with the tough conditions we put 'em through here in NZ.
Spotting the Trouble
• Hearin' squeals or grindin' when ya brake
• Feelin' a wobble in the brake pedal
• Takin' longer to pull up than usual
• Seein' score marks, rust, or other damage on the rotor itself
WOF Woes?
Dodgy disc brake rotors are a surefire way to fail your WOF here in New Zealand. They gotta be above the minimum thickness and free from cracks to pass the test.
DIY or Hand It Over?

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Alright, before you get stuck in, a few quick words from yours truly. Safety first, always! Never, ever get under a car supported only by a jack. Use proper stands. And when it comes to brakes, cleanliness is next to godliness. Grab a can of Brake Cleaner to blast away that brake dust – nasty stuff. A bit of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots will keep things smooth, and don't forget your Safety Glasses and Nitrile Gloves to keep the muck off your mitts.
Expert Advice
Worn brake rotors mean you're not stoppin' as good as you could be, and that's never a good thing. Replacin' 'em keeps you safe and stops other brake bits from wearin' out too fast. TRW makes a solid rotor, but we stock a bunch of others. Bob @ CARFIX is always ready to give you a yarn about the perfect part you need. Make sure you head over to Bob's Shop for a chat!
Fitment Notes
Double-check it's the right rotor for your Ford model, year, and engine. Some have different sizes or need special brake pads to go with 'em.
Bob's tip: After fitting, gently apply the brakes a few times to bed the pads in with the new rotor surface.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
