Swapping Out Your BMW's Disc Brake Rotors — TRW Edition
> Rotors are the unsung heroes of your BMW's brakes. They take a beating from friction and heat, and can warp or corrode over time, especially if you give your Bimmer a thrashing. Keep your 5 or 6 Series stopping like new with this guide.
Spotting the Signs of Dodgy Rotors
• Brakes sound like a flock of seagulls or a metal grinder?
• Feel a wobble in the pedal when you hit the brakes?
• Taking longer to pull up at the lights?
• Rotors look scored, rusty, or just plain sad?
WOF Woes?
Dodgy brake rotors are a surefire way to fail your WOF here in NZ. Your rotors need to be above the minimum thickness and in good nick to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you dive in, mate, safety first! Always use proper jack stands – never trust just a jack. Grab some Nitrile Gloves to keep the hands clean and Safety Glasses to protect your peepers from brake dust. Give those new rotors a good blast with Brake Cleaner to get rid of any manufacturing oils. And a tiny dab of anti-seize on the caliper bolts never hurts, eh?
Bob's Two Cents
Worn rotors are a no-brainer when it comes to safety. Replacing them will bring back that confident braking feel. Pop into Bob's Shop, and I'll help you find the perfect part for your BMW!
Fitment Notes
Double-check that these rotors are the right fit for your specific BMW 5 or 6 Series model and year. Rotor sizes and thickness can vary depending on the trim level and braking system. Always swap out rotors in pairs (both sides of the axle) for even braking.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
