Description

Swapping Out Your Jaguar's Disc Brake Rotors — With TRW
> Your Jag's braking system relies big time on disc brake rotors. Over time, especially if you're giving it the beans in an F-Type or XJ, these rotors can wear out, warp, or even crack. That means dodgy braking and could be a safety issue.

Signs You've Got Rotor Trouble
• Brakes are squealing like a stuck pig or grinding like dusty metal tracks.
• Brake pedal's vibrating like crazy.
• Rotors have got scoring, cracks, or look pretty rusty.
• Taking longer to stop than you're used to.
• Brake pads wearing unevenly.

WOF Woes?
Worn or rooted disc brake rotors are a common cause for failing your WOF here in New Zealand. Rotors need to be within the minimum thickness and no cracks or major damage to pass the test.

DIY or Get a Pro?
Difficulty: 7/10
Time Needed: 2-3 hours per axle
Gear You'll Need: Jack and stands (never get under a car supported only by a jack!), lug wrench, socket set, torque wrench, brake cleaner, caliper compressor tool (makes life easier).

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
• Safety First, Mates!: Chuck on some safety glasses to keep the crud out of your peepers, and grab some nitrile gloves to keep your hands clean. Brakes produce nasty carbon dust!
• Cleanliness is King: Before you even think about slapping on those new rotors, give everything a good blast with some Brake Cleaner. Gets rid of all the brake dust and grime.
• Don't Forget the Grease: A little anti-seize caliper grease on the caliper bolts will make your life easier next time you're in there.

Expert's Two Cents
Worn brake rotors are a no-brainer when it comes to safety and how well your Jag performs. Replacing them gets your braking back to top-notch. Bob @ CARFIX is always here to help you work out exactly what part you need for your Jaguar. Make sure you head over to Bob's Shop for a chat!

Fitment Notes
Double-check this rotor fits your exact Jag model, year, and trim. Some models have different rotor sizes. Always do both sides of the axle at the same time to keep your braking balanced. While you're at it, have a look at your brake pads and replace them if they're looking tired.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
