Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — The DBA Way
> Those disc brake rotors are dead important for your Ford Falcon XR8 or Fairlane V8, eh. They're what the brake pads grab onto to slow ya down. Over time, they get worn, warped, or even crack, especially if you're giving it the beans. Time for a change, cuz!
What Clued You In?
• Brake pedal doing the Macarena (vibrating like crazy)
• Brakes squealing like stuck pigs
• Taking longer than Auckland traffic to stop
• Rotors looking like the surface of the moon (cracked and grooved)
WOF Woes?
Buggered brake rotors are a surefire way to fail your WOF. They gotta be within thickness limits and crack-free to pass, mate.
DIY or Hand it to the Experts?

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you get cracking, a little prep goes a long way. Safety first, always! Grab yourself some safety glasses to keep the crud out of your peepers, and a decent set of nitrile gloves to keep the hands clean from all that brake dust. Speaking of brake dust, it's nasty stuff, so give those new rotors (and calipers) a good blast with some Brake Cleaner. And when you're putting it all back together, a wee dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots will keep things moving smoothly for ages.
Bob's Two Cents
Worn brake rotors are a safety risk, plain and simple. Getting them swapped out keeps your Ford Falcon XR8 or Fairlane V8 stopping like it should. Give Bob a shout at Bob's Shop, and he'll sort you out with the right bits!
Fitment Notes
Double-check those new rotors fit your specific Ford model and year. XR6, XR8, Fairlane, TL50 — they all have slight differences. Get the diameter and thickness spot on to match what you had.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
