Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — DBA Style
> Disc brake rotors are fair dinkum vital for your Subaru's braking. Over time, they cop a beating from friction, warp from heat, or get rusty, especially if you're givin' it heaps in a WRX or Legacy RS, where the brakes are always workin' hard.
Spotting the Warning Signs
• Brake pedal's doin' the shimmy or vibratin'
• Hearin' squeals or grindin' when you hit the brakes
• Takin' longer to pull up than usual
• Seein' lines or damage on the rotor
• Pads wearin' out unevenly
WOF Woes?
Worn or rooted brake rotors are a dead cert to fail a WOF here in NZ. They gotta be thicker than the minimum the book says and free from cracks to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Alright, before you get stuck in, let's make sure you're sorted. Safety first, always! Never get under a car that's only held up by a jack – use proper jack stands, yeah?
• Safety Glasses: Keep those peepers safe from flying grit and brake dust. No one wants a trip to the eye doctor.
• Nitrile Gloves: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Keep your hands clean and protected with some heavy-duty Nitrile Gloves.
• Brake Cleaner: Blast away all that stubborn carbon dust and grime from the brake components. Makes the job easier and the brakes work better. Grab a can of Brake Cleaner.
• Anti-Seize Grease: A light smear of anti-seize on the caliper bolts will make your life easier next time you're in there. Stops things seizing up.
Bob's Two Cents
Worn brake rotors mean your Subaru Impreza or Legacy won't be stoppin' like it should. Get 'em done and you'll be back to havin' the confidence, especially when you're givin' it a bit of stick. Fitment Notes
Double-check the new rotors fit your Subaru Impreza or Legacy year and model. Rotor sizes and bolt patterns can be different. Always do both rotors on an axle (both fronts or both rears) to keep the braking even as she goes.
