Description

Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — DBA Featured
> Your Jaguar's braking system is only as good as its weakest link, and the rotors are a pretty critical part of that chain. All that friction and heat takes its toll, especially if you drive your XJ or F-Type like you stole it. If your rotors are warped or knackered, your stopping power is going to suffer, plain and simple.

Spotting the Warning Signs
• That juddering feeling in the brake pedal
• Horrible screeching or grinding when you hit the brakes
• Taking way longer to stop than you used to
• Rotors looking all scored or cracked

WOF Woes?
Dodgy brake rotors are a surefire way to fail your WOF here in NZ. They've got to be a certain thickness and free from any major damage to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you even think about cracking open the toolbox, let's talk safety. Brakes are no laughing matter. Never, ever get under a car that's only supported by a jack! Use proper stands, yeah? While you're at it, grab some Nitrile Gloves to keep your hands clean and a pair of Safety Glasses to protect your eyes from brake dust – that stuff's nasty. Also, a can of Brake Cleaner is your best mate for blasting away all the carbon dust and grime. And don't forget a dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots to keep things moving smoothly.

Fitment Notes
Double-check that those new rotors are the right fit for your specific Jaguar model and year. Some models have different rotor sizes, so don't just assume they're all the same. Always replace rotors in pairs – both fronts or both rears – to keep your braking balanced.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
