The Daihatsu 850 was considered a competent car in many areas of the world in the 1980s thanks to it's basic construction and economical price. Today owners need to keep on top of maintenance and rust to retain them.
Wheel arches are rust common areas, Head Gaskets, and worn suspension/steering components.
All lights are functional for a WOF, inspect the wheel arches for rust carefully, check handbrake functionality and inspect components for suspension and steering.
Built on the same chassis as the Hijet of the day, the 850 had reasonable handling. Known issues include rust, components wearing out faster, requiring replacement regularly. Head gaskets can commonly fail also - this is important to check when inspecting this car.
