Known issues

While major mechanical failures are less common in EVs, potential issues include software glitches in the infotainment and driver-assistance systems, degradation of battery capacity over time (dependent on charging habits), and potential issues with the charging system itself. Keep an eye on tyre wear, as the instant torque can accelerate wear, and ensure regular brake servicing to prevent seizing due to less frequent use of the friction brakes.

WOF tips

Focus on tyre condition, brake function (including the parking brake), and the integrity of the charging port and cable. Check that all lights, including the unique lighting signatures, are functioning correctly. Ensure the airbags and other safety systems are free from warning lights. WOF inspectors will also check the general condition of the high-voltage cables and connectors, but this is more visual than functional.
