Description

Wiper Blade Sorted! — With TRIDON
> Wiper blades, eh? They're vital for seeing properly when the weather turns nasty, clearing rain, snow, and all sorts of gunk off your windscreen. Over time, the rubber gives way to the elements, especially sun and temperature changes. This means they don't work as well, a real worry for family wagons like the Ford Galaxy and your everyday Holden Astra.
What's Up With Your Wipers?
• Streaky windscreen
• Noisy wipers
• Rubber looks rooted
• Wiping is patchy
• Can't see properly when it's wet
WOF Ready?
Wiper blades need to be up to scratch to pass a Warrant of Fitness (WOF) here in New Zealand. They've gotta clear that windscreen properly so you can see the road, no worries.
DIY or Workshop?
How Hard? 3/10
How Long? 10-15 minutes
What You Need: Not much, but grab some gloves to keep your mitts clean.
🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you get cracking, make sure you've got these sorted:
• Safety First: Even though it's a quick job, be mindful of your surroundings, especially if you're doing this on the side of the road.
• Cleanliness Counts: Give your windscreen a good scrub with Glass Cleaner before fitting the new blades. This helps them bed in properly and gives you a streak-free finish.
• Protection: A microfibre Microfibre Towel is handy for wiping down the blades and glass.
• Washer Fluid: Top up your windscreen washer fluid. It helps keep your windscreen clean and prolongs the life of your blades.
Bob's Two Cents
Changing your wiper blades regularly is a no-brainer for keeping safe on the roads. Bob @ CARFIX reckons you should swap them out every 6-12 months, or sooner if they're looking a bit sad. If you're unsure what you need, pop into Bob's Shop for a yarn!
Fitment Notes
Make sure the new blade is the right size and type for your vehicle. Some vehicles might need special adapters, especially posh ones like the Lexus GX 470.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Windshield Protection: When the wiper arm is bare, place a folded towel on the windscreen to prevent the spring-loaded metal arm from snapping down and cracking the glass.
• Clear Vision Prep: Clean the windscreen thoroughly with a high-quality Glass Cleaner and microfibre cloth before installing the new blades to remove road film.
• Windscreen Wash: Top up your washer reservoir with a quality windscreen wash additive to keep your screen smear-free.
