Give Your Classic Holden the Stop It Deserves — With RDA Brake Pads!
> Alright, let's talk brass tacks. Brake pads are the unsung heroes of your Holden, those bits of magic that clamp down on your rotors to bring you to a halt. But like a good pair of gumboots, they wear out, especially in those older, heavier beauties like your Commodore or Caprice. And when they do, your stopping power goes to custard, which is a big no-no for safety.
Is Your Holden Whispering (or Screaming) for New Pads?
• Hearing squeals, grinding, or a horrid metallic scrape when you hit the anchors?
• Does it feel like you're pushing the pedal through treacle, or taking ages to stop?
• Getting a bit of a shimmy or shake through the steering wheel or pedal when you brake?
• Had a peek and seen your pads are looking a bit thin — say, less than 3mm left?
• Is that pesky brake warning light glaring at you from the dash?
Will She Pass Her WOF?
Nah, mate, no chance. Worn brake pads are a straight-up fail. If your pads are thinner than a toothpick (usually under 1.5mm to 3mm, depending on the beast), or if they're looking cracked, uneven, or grotty, your Holden won't be getting that shiny new WOF sticker.
Fancy a Bit of DIY, or Leave it to the Pros?

Bob's Top Tip for Stopping Power:
Look, replacing your brake pads isn't just a job; it's a safety mission. Skimping here means you're skimping on your ability to stop, and that's a recipe for disaster, especially in those solid, classic Holdens where you need every bit of stopping performance. These RDA pads are a ripper choice — good performance, built to last for your old-school Holden. Something for every budget and every driving style. And here's a hot tip from Bob: always try to swap out your pads and rotors at the same time for the best braking feel and longevity.

Holden Fitment Notes:
These pads are a good match for a whole heap of classic Holdens, from Berlina, Commodore, Caprice, and Calais models, roughly from the late '70s all the way up to the early 2000s. Because there are so many variants, you absolutely must double-check the exact year, engine size (V6, V8, EFi), and model trim to make sure you're getting the perfect fit. Pay extra attention to those special models like the HDT Calais Sport — they often have their own unique braking requirements.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
