Swapping Out Your Brake Pads — The RDA Way
> Your Ford truck or Bronco's brake pads are dead important. They squeeze against the rotors to slow you down. Over time, they wear out from the heat and constant grind, which means less stopping power and maybe even damage to your rotors. No good, mate.
Uh Oh, Is This You?
• Brakes squealing like a stuck pig?
• Braking feels a bit... weak?
• Taking longer to pull up at the lights?
• Steering wheel or pedal vibrating like crazy?
• Pads look properly rooted?
WOF Woes?
Worn brake pads are a surefire way to fail your WOF here in NZ. They need to be thick enough to actually, you know, stop the thing! Check the Land Transport NZ guidelines for the nitty-gritty.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Right, before you get cracking, safety first! Never, ever get under a car supported only by a jack. Get yourself some proper jack stands. Grab some Nitrile Gloves to keep the hands clean and some Safety Glasses to keep the brake dust out of your eyes when you're blasting everything down with Brake Cleaner. A wee bit of anti-seize caliper grease on the threads will help you out next time too.
Expert Recommendation
Replacing those brake pads is crucial to keeping your Ford truck or Bronco stopping safely. RDA pads will get you there, but we've got plenty of options to suit your wallet and driving style. Swing by Bob's Shop, and we'll sort you out with the right parts for your Ford truck or Bronco.
Fitment Notes
Double-check those pads fit your specific Ford model and year. Some have different brake setups. Always do both sides of the axle at the same time for even braking. No point in having one side working better than the other, ay!

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
