Description

Swapping Out Your BRAKE PADS — Featuring RDA
> Brake pads? They're the bit that squeezes against the disc, turning your Captiva's speed into heat when you hit the brakes. Like a good pair of jandals, they wear down, and that means your stopping power goes south. Especially important when you're hauling precious cargo.
What Clued You In?
• Brakes screeches like a rusty gate?
• Taking longer to pull up at the lights?
• The brake pedal's vibrating like a cellphone?
• Pedal feels soft as butter?
• Dashboard's lit up like a Christmas tree?
WOF Worthy?
Nope, not with dodgy brakes. If your pads are thinner than a cafe lunch or wearing unevenly, you'll be gutted when it fails its WOF. Good brakes are non-negotiable for safety, mate.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
• Safety First, Always: Never, ever get under your Captiva when it's only held up by a jack. Use proper stands – your life's worth it!
• Blast Away the Grime: Brake dust's a bugger. Grab some Brake Cleaner to spray down the calipers and discs. Keeps everything sweet.
• Glove Up: Protect those mitts with some Nitrile Gloves. Brake dust and grease are no fun to clean off.
• Lube it Right: A wee dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots stops things seizing up later. Trust me, you'll thank me next time.
Expert Tip
Bob @ CARFIX reckons don't muck about with brakes. If they're showing wear, get them sorted. These RDA pads are a top choice for Captivas, giving you good stopping power that lasts. Pop into Bob's Shop, and we'll sort you out with the right gear for your Holden Captiva.
Fitment Notes
Spot on for Holden Captiva 5s and 7s, petrol and diesel, from '06 to '18. Just double-check the year, model, and engine – brake setups can be a bit different even within the same range.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
