Description

Swapping Out Your Brake Pads — RDA Style
> Brake pads, eh? They're what slows down your trusty Mercedes-Benz MB 100 or MB 140. Over time, they wear down, especially if you're always carting stuff around. Ignoring worn pads? That's just asking for trouble, mate. Reduced braking and buggered rotors are not what you want.
How'd You End Up Here, Eh?
• Hear a squeal or grind when you hit the brakes?
• Braking feels a bit... weak?
• Pedal feels spongy underfoot?
• Can see the pads are looking sad and thin?
• Dashboard's lit up like a Christmas tree with a brake warning?
WOF Woes?
Worn brake pads are a dead cert WOF failure. Land Transport NZ are pretty strict on brake performance, so make sure those pads have enough meat on them.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you get cracking, safety first! Never, ever get under a van supported only by a jack. Use proper axle stands – no exceptions. And those brake pads? They create a lot of nasty brake dust, so grab some Nitrile Gloves and safety glasses to keep yourself clean and protected. A can of Brake Cleaner will help blast away all that carbon dust. Finally, a wee smear of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots will keep things moving smoothly next time. Sorted.
Bob's Two Cents
Don't muck around with dodgy brakes on your Mercedes-Benz MB 100 or MB 140, especially if you're hauling gear. Get them sorted pronto! Pop into Bob's Shop; I'm always happy to help you find the perfect fit for your van. Chur!
Fitment Notes
Double-check these pads fit your Mercedes-Benz MB 100 or MB 140 year and model. Measure them up against your old pads before you get started.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
