Description

Swapping Out Your Brake Pads — The RDA Way
> Brake pads are a crucial wear item, eh? Over time, they wear down, meaning less stopping power. This is super important for utes like the Holden Rodeo and Isuzu Trooper, often used for towing or heading off-road where your brakes really get a workout. Don't get caught out - keep them ship-shape.
What Clued You In?
• Squealing or grinding when you hit the brakes
• Brakes feeling a bit soft or slow to respond
• Taking longer to stop than usual
• Feeling a wobble or judder through the pedal
• Seeing the pads are looking thin or damaged
Will it pass WOF?
Worn brake pads are a quick way to fail a WOF here in New Zealand. They need to be thick enough to do the job properly. Have a look at the Land Transport NZ guidelines to be sure.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you get cracking, mate, safety first! Never get under a car supported only by a jack. Use proper stands! Grab some Nitrile Gloves to keep the hands clean from brake dust, and safety glasses to keep the brake dust out of your eyes. Blast away brake dust with Brake Cleaner before you start pulling things apart. A little bit of anti-seize Caliper Grease on the caliper bolts never hurts either!
Expert Recommendation
Changing your brake pads regularly is a no-brainer for staying safe. Worn pads can wreck your rotors and make it harder to stop quickly. RDA brake pads are a solid choice for the price. Bob @ CARFIX is your man to sort you out with the right parts. Pop into Bob's Shop for a yarn!
Fitment Notes
Make sure these pads fit your exact model and caliper type. Some models can be a bit different. Double-check the size and shape before you get started.

🛠️ Bob's Pro Tip: Do the Job Right!

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
