Disc Brake Rotor Replacement: Sorted with RDA
> Disc brake rotors – they're the unsung heroes hiding behind your wheels. When you hit the brakes, your pads clamp onto these discs, using friction to slow you down. Think of them taking a beating every time you drive! Over time, they wear down, warp, or get scored, which can make braking a bit dodgy. Especially important to keep an eye on these for vans like the workhorse Nissan Vanette or the family-friendly Mitsubishi Delica. And for your BMW, you want the best braking performance possible, right?
Spotting Dodgy Rotors: Time for a Change?
• Feel a shudder in the pedal or steering wheel when braking?
• Hear squeals, scrapes, or grinding noises?
• Taking longer to stop than usual?
• See obvious damage – grooves, cracks, or discolouration?
• Brake pedal feels soft or spongy?
WOF Woes? Don't Get Gutted!
Worn brake rotors are a surefire way to fail your Warrant of Fitness (WOF) here in NZ. The inspector will check your brakes carefully, and if your rotors are too thin or damaged, it's a no-go. Get them sorted before your test!
