Kia Cerato Disc Brake Rotor Replacement: A Kiwi DIY Guide
> Your Kia Cerato's disc brake rotors are absolutely critical. Over time, they can wear out, warp, or even crack from the heat and friction of regular braking, especially if you're stuck in that Auckland stop-start traffic all the time.
Spotting the Trouble Signs
• Squealing like a stuck pig when you brake
• Feeling a judder or vibration in the pedal
• Taking longer to pull up than you're used to
• Seeing scoring, cracks, or rust on the rotor itself
WOF Woes?
Worn brake rotors are a dead cert to fail a WOF here in New Zealand. They have to be above minimum thickness and free from cracks to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you get cracking on those brakes, mate, a little prep goes a long way. Safety first, always! Never get under a car supported only by a jack. Use proper axle stands – your life's worth more than saving a few bucks. Grab some nitrile gloves to keep your hands clean from all that brake dust, and definitely wear some safety glasses to keep the crud out of your eyes. Now, braking generates heat and dust, so give those new rotors a good spray down with Brake Cleaner to remove any manufacturing oils. While you're at it, a little dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots will keep things smooth and prevent squeaks down the line.
Bob's Two Cents
Worn brake rotors are a safety risk, no doubt. Swapping them out keeps your Cerato stopping like it should and stops damage to other parts. I'm always here to help you pick the right parts for your Kia Cerato. Pop into Bob's Shop for a yarn!
Fitment Notes
Double-check those new rotors fit your exact Kia Cerato – model and year! Rotor diameter and thickness need to match what you've already got. Some Ceratos have different rotor sizes depending on the model.

• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
