Description

Disc Brake Rotor Replacement — Sorted with RDA
> Your disc brake rotors are dead important. They're the surface your brake pads squeeze against to bring you to a halt. Over time, especially on tough conditions in vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz CLA and Great Wall H6, they can wear out, warp, or get a bit mangled.

Spotting the Warning Signs
• Brakes sounding like a rusty gate opening?
• Brake pedal doing the Macarena (vibrating like crazy)?
• Taking longer to pull up at the lights?
• Rotors looking like they've seen better days (scoring, cracks, rust)?

Will it pass WOF?
Buggered brake rotors are a surefire way to fail a WOF here in New Zealand. They HAVE to be above minimum thickness and free from cracks to pass the test. No if's or but's.

• Safety First, Mate: Never, ever get under a car supported only by a jack! Use proper axle stands. Eye protection Safety Glasses is a no-brainer when dealing with brake dust and grime.
• Cleanliness is King: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Give everything a good blast with Brake Cleaner to keep it under control. Plus, clean surfaces help you spot any leaks or issues.
• Protection is Paramount: A decent set of Nitrile Gloves will save your hands from all the muck and grease. Trust me, your cafe lunch will taste better afterwards.
• Lube it Up: Use a dab of anti-seize Caliper Grease on the caliper bolts and pad contact points to prevent future squeaks and keep things moving freely.
