Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — the RDA Way
> Your Toyota Corolla or Yaris relies on disc brake rotors to pull you up safely. They cop a hammering, though, and can wear down, warp in the heat, or get rusty. That means dodgy braking, especially if you're always on the stop-start in town.
What Clued You In?
• Brakes squealing or grinding like crazy?
• Brake pedal vibrating?
• Taking ages to stop?
• Rotors looking scored, rusty, or just plain buggered?
• Brake pads wearing unevenly, eh?
WOF Woes?
Dodgy brake rotors are a dead cert for a WOF failure here in NZ. They've gotta be above the minimum thickness and not too far gone to pass the test.

• Nitrile Gloves: Keep your mitts clean and away from brake dust with some proper Nitrile Gloves. You can thank me later.
• Brake Cleaner: Blast away all that nasty carbon dust and grime before you start pulling things apart. Makes the job cleaner and easier. Grab a can of Brake Cleaner.
• Caliper Grease: A little dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the caliper pins will keep things moving smoothly and prevent sticking.
And remember, never, ever get under a car that's only held up by a jack! Use proper stands. Now, onto the rotors!

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
