Disc Brake Rotor Replacement: Get it Sorted with RDA
> Disc brake rotors are the unsung heroes in your braking system. They team up with the brake pads to bring your vehicle to a halt. Over time – especially if you’re giving it heaps in your Toyota Camry, RAV4, or even the hybrid Yaris Cross, C-HR, or Lexus UX – rotors can wear out, warp, or crack. That means dodgy braking!
Spotting the Warning Signs
• Squealing like a pig or grinding noises when you hit the brakes
• Your brake pedal's doing the Macarena (vibrating or pulsating)
• Brakes slower than a wet week
• Cracks or damage you can see on the rotor
• Brake pads wearing unevenly – that's not cricket!
Will it pass WOF?
Brake rotors that are past their prime will get you failed at WOF time in New Zealand. Make sure your rotors are thick enough and aren't cracked or too worn to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Alright, before you get cracking on those brakes, let's make sure you're set up for success and safety, the Kiwi way:
• Safety First, Mate: Never, ever get under a car that's only held up by a jack. Use proper axle stands – your life's worth more than a cafe lunch!
• Cleanliness is Next to...Well, You Know: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Grab some Brake Cleaner to blast that carbon dust away. Your lungs will thank you.
• Protect Your Hands: Keep your mitts clean and safe with a pair of Nitrile Gloves. Brake cleaner and skin don't mix well.
• Stopping Squeals: A touch of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots can keep things quiet and smooth. Don't go overboard, though!
• Eye Protection: Grab some safety glasses to keep the dust out of your precious eyes.
Expert Recommendation
Worn brake rotors mean your Toyota or Lexus hybrid or standard vehicle won't stop like it should. Change them out to be safe and keep other parts from wearing out too fast. The RDA rotor is a good one, but CARFIX has others. Bob @ CARFIX knows his stuff and can help you find the right part for your vehicle. Pop into Bob's Shop and have a yarn!
Fitment Notes
Make sure the new rotors are right for your car's model and year. Some have different rotor sizes or setups. Double-check if you have a hybrid or standard Toyota C-HR, RAV4, Camry, or Lexus UX, ES, or NX series.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
