Swapping Out Your Porsche's Brake Rotors — With RDA
> Your Porsche's brake rotors are dead important. They're where the brake pads do their thing, clamping down to slow you down. Over time, especially if you give it heaps, rotors can wear out, warp, or even crack. Not ideal!
Spotting the Warning Signs
• Brake pedal doing the Macarena (vibrating heaps).
• Brakes squealing like a gutted possum.
• Taking forever and a day to stop.
• Rotors looking like they've been through a war (cracks, grooves).
• Brake pads wearing unevenly.
Will it pass WOF?
Dodgy brake rotors are a surefire way to fail your WOF here in NZ. They need to be above the minimum thickness and free from cracks to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Alright, before you get cracking on those rotors, let's talk safety and getting the job done right, Kiwi style.
• Safety First, Mate! Never, ever get under a car that's only held up by a jack. Use proper stands! And grab some Nitrile Gloves to keep your hands clean from all that brake dust and grime. Trust me, your cafe lunch will taste better afterwards. Don't forget your safety glasses too; brake dust in the eye is no fun.
• Cleanliness is King: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Have a can of Brake Cleaner handy to blast away all the carbon buildup. This helps the new rotors bed in properly and keeps everything running smoothly.
• Protection is Paramount: A little bit of anti-seize compound on the caliper bolts will save you a world of pain next time you're doing the job. Trust me, those things can get bloody tight!
Expert Recommendation
Worn rotors are a no-brainer when it comes to safety. Replacing them gets your braking back to top-notch. Bob @ CARFIX is your man, head over to Bob's Shop and we can get you sorted!
Fitment Notes
Make sure the rotor fits your Porsche 911, Cayman, or Boxster model. Front and rear sizes can be different!

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
