Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — Featuring RDA
> Disc brake rotors are dead important for stopping your Honda Civic or MG ZR. They're what the brake pads clamp onto. Over time, they get worn, warped, or even cracked, especially if you're giving that MG ZR a bit of stick on the open road.
Spotting the Trouble Signs
• Brakes squealing like stuck pigs or grinding away
• Feeling a judder or pulse through the brake pedal
• Taking longer to stop than you're used to
• Seeing cracks, deep grooves, or a heap of rust on the rotor
WOF Woes?
Dodgy brake rotors are a real WOF killer here in NZ. Make sure they're thick enough and free of cracks to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
• Safety First, Mates! Never, ever get under a car that's only held up by a jack. Use proper stands – your life's worth more than a cafe lunch. And chuck on some safety glasses to keep the brake dust out of your peepers.
• Cleanliness is Key: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Give everything a good blast with Brake Cleaner before you start pulling things apart.
• Protect Your Investment: A little anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots will keep things moving smoothly and stop them seizing up later.
• Glove Up: Keep your hands clean and protected with a decent set of Nitrile Gloves. Brake fluid's not exactly good for the skin.
Bob's Two Cents
Worn brake rotors are a no-brainer when it comes to safety. Replacing them keeps your Honda Civic or MG ZR stopping like it should and stops other bits from wearing out too fast. RDA's a good brand, but CARFIX has plenty of others. Pop into Bob's Shop for a yarn – I'll sort you out with the right parts for your ride!
Fitment Notes
Double-check the rotor size (diameter and thickness) to make sure it fits your Honda Civic or MG ZR. Some models have different sizes depending on the year and trim level.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
