Description

Disc Brake Rotor Replacement: The RDA Way
> Disc brake rotors are a seriously important part of your braking system. They're what the brake pads squeeze to slow you down. Over time, rotors can wear out, warp, or even crack, especially if you're always slamming on the brakes in your Holden Cruze or Opel Zafira.

Spotting Trouble: Is It Time for New Rotors?
• Hear a squeal or grind when you brake?
• Feel a shudder in the pedal when you hit the anchors?
• See scoring, cracks, or rust on the rotor?
• Taking longer to stop than you used to?

WOF Woes? Will it Pass?
Dodgy brake rotors are a classic WOF fail here in NZ. Your rotors need to be above the minimum thickness and free from major damage to get the green light.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
• Safety First, Mates! Never, ever get under a car that's only held up by a jack. Use proper axle stands – it's a no-brainer.
• Keep it Clean: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Grab a can of Brake Cleaner to blast it away before you start. Trust me, your lungs will thank you.
• Protect Your Hands: Those rotors can be sharp and the brake dust clings to everything. A pair of Nitrile Gloves will keep your hands clean and safe.
• Grease is Good: Use a dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the caliper bolts to make the job easier next time. Prevents corrosion too.
• Eye Protection: Safety glasses, always. Flying debris is no fun.

Bob's Two Cents
Worn rotors mean your braking isn't up to scratch, plain and simple. Replacing them keeps you safe and stops other parts from getting damaged. Call into Bob's Shop and I'll sort you out with the right rotors for your Holden or Opel. See you soon!

Fitment Tip
Make sure the new rotors are the right match for your car. Some models, like the Holden Commodore i V6, can be a bit fussy. Always swap rotors in pairs for even braking.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
