SAAB & Vectra Brake Rotor Swap: The Kiwi DIY Guide
> Disc brake rotors are a seriously important bit of kit on your SAAB 9-3 or Holden Vectra. They cop a hiding from your brake pads every time you hit the anchors. Daily driving, and giving it a bit of stick now and then, wears them down. If they warp or crack, your braking goes to custard real quick, and that's not safe at all.
Is This You?
• Brake pedal feels like it's got the shakes when you brake?
• Brakes are making a racket – squealing or grinding?
• Taking longer to pull up than usual?
• Rotors look like they've been through the wringer – scoring, cracks, or rust?
• Brake pads wearing unevenly?
Will it pass WOF?
Dodgy brake rotors are a dead cert for a WOF fail here in NZ. They've gotta be above the minimum thickness and in good nick to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you get cracking, mate, safety first! Grab some safety glasses to keep the crud out of your eyes and nitrile gloves to keep your hands clean from all that brake dust. Give those new rotors a good blast with brake cleaner to get rid of any manufacturing gunk. And don't forget a smear of anti-seize on the caliper bolts to make life easier next time. Oh, and *never* get under a car supported *only* by a jack – use proper stands!
Expert Recommendation
Worn brake rotors mean your SAAB 9-3 or Holden Vectra won't be stopping like it should, and that's not ideal. Swapping them out will get your braking back to top-notch. Bob at CARFIX is always keen to help you find the right bits for your SAAB or Holden, so pop into Bob's Shop for a yarn!
Fitment Notes
Make sure you're picking the right rotor size and specs for your exact SAAB 9-3 or Holden Vectra model and year. Some models have different rotor sizes depending on the trim or factory options.
Bob's tip: Remember to bed in those new rotors properly with some gentle braking for the first few hundred kays. Happy motoring!

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
