Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — With RDA
> Disc brake rotors are what stop your Toyota RAV4 or Vanguard, so they've gotta be up to scratch. Over time, they cop a hiding from heat and friction, and they can corrode, especially with all the stop-start driving around NZ and the hills these SUVs tackle.
Spotting the Warning Signs
• Brakes squealing like a rusty gate?
• Brake pedal vibrating like crazy?
• Taking longer to pull up than you'd like?
• Rotors looking scored, cracked, or rusty?
WOF Worries?
Worn rotors are a quick way to fail a WOF here in New Zealand. They need to be above the minimum thickness and in good nick to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
• Safety First, Mates! Never, ever get under your RAV4 or Vanguard when it's only held up by a jack. Get yourself some proper Jack Stands. And don't forget Safety Glasses – you only get one set of eyes!
• Brake Dust is Brutal: Give those new rotors and calipers a good blast with Brake Cleaner before you button everything up. This gets rid of any gunk or manufacturing residue.
• Keep the Squeaks Away: A little dab of Anti-Seize Caliper Grease on the caliper slide pins helps keep everything moving smoothly and quietly. Stops those annoying brake squeals.
• Glove Up! Brake dust is nasty stuff. Protect your hands with some heavy-duty Nitrile Gloves.
