Dodgy brake rotors are a surefire way to fail your WOF. They need to be thick enough and free from major damage to pass the test. No point being gutted on WOF day.

Gear You'll Need: Jack and stands, wheel brace, socket set, torque wrench, brake cleaner, new brake pads (good idea while you're at it).

Before you get cracking on those brakes, mate, have you got everything sorted? Safety first, always!
• Safety Glasses: Don't want any brake dust or debris in your eyes. Safety Glasses are cheap as chips insurance.
• Nitrile Gloves: Keep your hands clean and protected from brake fluid. Nitrile Gloves are a must.
• Brake Cleaner: Blast away that brake dust before you start pulling things apart. Makes the job cleaner and safer. Grab a can of Brake Cleaner.
• Caliper Grease: A little dab of anti-seize caliper grease ensures smooth operation of moving parts and prevents sticking. No one likes a sticky caliper.
