Description

Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — Featuring RDA
> Disc brake rotors are the unsung heroes in your Jag or Daimler's braking setup. They cop a beating from friction, heat, and all the crud on our roads, so they wear down over time. That means your braking might not be up to scratch, and that's not good.
Spotting the Warning Signs
• Brakes sound like a choir of squealing pigs or a coffee grinder.
• Your brake pedal's doing the Macarena (vibrating like crazy).
• Taking longer to pull up than a cafe lunch.
• Rotors look like they've been attacked by a grinder, are cracked, or have more rust than a shipwreck.
• Your brake pads are wearing out unevenly – always a worry.
Will it pass WOF?
Buggered brake rotors are a surefire way to fail a WOF here in NZ. They need to be within the minimum thickness and not look like they've been through a war zone to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Alright, before you get stuck in, a few quick words from yours truly. We want you safe and your ride sweet as!
• Safety Glasses: No one wants bits of rust or brake dust in their eyes. Grab some Safety Glasses and keep those peepers protected.
• Nitrile Gloves: Brake dust is a bugger to get off your hands, and some brake cleaners can dry your skin out. A decent set of Nitrile Gloves will sort you out.
• Brake Cleaner: Blast away all that carbon dust and grime with a quality Brake Cleaner. Makes the job easier and keeps things clean.
• Anti-Seize Caliper Grease: A thin smear of anti-seize on the caliper bolts will make your life much easier next time you're in there. Prevents corrosion and keeps things moving freely.

Expert Recommendation
Worn rotors can make your Jag or Daimler handle like a shopping trolley with a dodgy wheel. Replacing them gets your braking back to top-notch and gives you peace of mind. The RDA rotor is a reliable choice, but CARFIX has plenty of options to match your budget. Bob @ CARFIX is always here to help you nail down the right part for your car. Fitment Notes
Make sure the new rotors are a dead ringer for your Jag or Daimler's specs – diameter, thickness, the whole shebang. Some models have different rotor sizes depending on the year and trim, so double-check!
Bob's tip: Never, ever get under a car that's only supported by a jack. Use proper axle stands – your life's worth it!

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
