Slapping on New Disc Brake Rotors — The RDA Way
> Disc brake rotors are crucial for stopping your Toyota Supra or trusty Estima. They wear out over time from heat and hard yakka, which means your braking won't be as sharp. If you're giving it heaps on the track or hauling the family around, keeping your rotors in good nick is a no-brainer.
How Did You End Up Here?
• Brakes sound like a flock of seagulls?
• Steering wheel doing the Macarena when you brake?
• Taking longer to pull up than a cafe lunch?
• Rotors looking like they've seen better days (scoring, cracks, rust)?
• Brake pads wearing unevenly?
Will it pass WOF?
Dodgy brake rotors are a surefire way to fail a WOF here in New Zealand. Your rotors need to be above the minimum thickness and without major damage to get the tick of approval.

Difficulty: 6/10
Estimated Time: 1-2 hours per rotor
Tools You'll Need: Jack and stands (never get under a car supported only by a jack!), lug wrench, socket set, torque wrench, brake cleaner, and maybe a brake caliper tool.
🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
• Safety First, Mates!: Before you even think about touching that lug wrench, make sure your Supra or Estima is parked on level ground, chuck the handbrake on hard, and use wheel chocks. We don't want any runaway vehicles!
• Keep it Clean: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Grab a can of Brake Cleaner to blast away the muck and keep your workspace tidy. It'll help you see what you're doing and stop that dust from getting everywhere.
• Protect Your Hands: Those rotors can be rough on the mitts. A pair of Nitrile Gloves will keep your hands clean and give you a better grip.
• Anti-Seize is Your Friend: A little dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the caliper bolts will make your life much easier next time you're doing a brake job. Trust me on this one.

Fitment Notes
Make sure the new rotor is the right match for your Supra or Estima – check the diameter, thickness, and bolt pattern. Some models have different rotor sizes depending on the trim level or factory options, so double-check!

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
