Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — With RDA
> Disc brake rotors are a seriously important bit of kit for stopping your car. They wear down over time from all that friction, can warp from the heat, and corrode like crazy, especially if you're driving something like a Mitsubishi ASX or Jeep Patriot that sees a bit of everything.
What Clued You In?
• Brakes sound like a startled pig?
• Steering wheel's doing the Macarena when you hit the brakes?
• Taking longer to stop than a cafe lunch queue?
• Rotors look like they've been attacked by a grinder?
• Brake pads wearing unevenly?
WOF Woes?
Dodgy brake rotors are a dead cert for failing a WOF here in NZ. They need to be above the minimum thickness and free from cracks or major damage to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you get stuck in, mate, safety first! Never, ever get under a car that's only held up by a jack – always use proper jack stands. Grab some Nitrile Gloves to keep your hands clean from all that brake dust. Speaking of brake dust, it's nasty stuff, so give your rotors a good blast with some Brake Cleaner before you start and after you finish. A little squirt of anti-seize caliper grease on the bolts will help you next time you are in there. Don't forget your safety glasses to keep the crud out of your eyes!

Fitment Notes
Make sure the new rotor is the right match for your car. Double-check the diameter, thickness, and bolt pattern, especially if you're working on something like a Peugeot 4008 or a Chrysler Sebring CRD.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
