VW Disc Brake Rotor Replacement — Featuring RDA
> Your Volkswagen's disc brake rotors are super important. They wear down over time thanks to friction, heat, and all the grit on our roads, especially if you're hauling heavy loads in a Transporter or tackling tough terrain in a Touareg.
Spotting the Warning Signs
• Brakes making a squealing or grinding noise? Sounds like a farm gate!
• Feeling a wobble or pulsing when you hit the brakes?
• Taking longer to stop than usual?
• Seeing grooves, cracks, or rust on the rotor surface?
• Noticed your brake pads wearing unevenly?
WOF Woes?
Dodgy brake rotors are a surefire way to fail your WOF here in NZ. They gotta be above the minimum thickness and free from major damage to pass the test.

Before you get cracking on those brakes, here's a few must-dos. Safety first, team!
• Safety Glasses: Protect your peepers from brake dust and flying grit. No one wants a trip to the eye doctor!
• Nitrile Gloves: Keep your hands clean and away from brake dust. Trust me, you don't want that stuff on your cafe lunch.
• Brake Cleaner: This stuff is gold for blasting away brake dust and grime. Makes the job cleaner and easier. Grab a can of Brake Cleaner.
• Anti-Seize Grease: A wee dab of this on the caliper bolts will make life easier next time. Stops 'em seizing up. You can find Anti-Seize Grease here.
• Important Note: Never, ever get under a car that's only supported by a jack. Use proper stands – it's a no-brainer for your safety!
Expert's Two Cents
Worn brake rotors mean your VW Transporter or Touareg isn't stopping as well as it should. Swapping them out keeps you safe and stops other brake bits from getting damaged. RDA rotors are a good bet, but we've got other options at CARFIX to suit your budget. Bob @ CARFIX is always here to sort you out with the right part for your Volkswagen.
