Description

Disc Brake Rotor Replacement Guide — Featuring RDA
> Your Holden's disc brake rotors are key to safe stopping. They wear from friction, warp from heat, and corrode–especially on models like the Crewman and Commodore that see tough conditions or sit around a bit.

Spotting Trouble: Is It Time for New Rotors?
• Brake pedal's got the shakes or a vibration
• Squealing or grinding when you hit the brakes
• Taking longer to pull up at the lights
• Rotors look scored, rusty, or just plain sad
• Your brake pads are wearing unevenly

Will it pass WOF?
Worn rotors are a surefire way to fail a WOF here in NZ. They gotta be thick enough and free from cracks to pass the test.

DIY or Workshop?
Difficulty: 6/10
Estimated Time: 1-2 hours per rotor
Tools Required: Jack, jack stands, wheel wrench, socket set, torque wrench, brake cleaner, rotor removal tool (optional)

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you get cracking on those rotors, mate, a few things to keep in mind:
• Safety First: Never, ever get under a car supported only by a jack. Use proper jack stands – it's a no-brainer.
• Cleanliness is Key: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Give everything a good blast with Brake Cleaner to keep the dust down. Trust me, your lungs will thank you.
• Glove Up: Protect your hands with some heavy-duty Nitrile Gloves. Keeps the grease and grime off.
• Stopping Squeaks: A little dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots can stop annoying squeaks. Worth its weight in gold, that stuff.
• Eye Protection: Get some safety glasses to keep the brake dust out of your peepers.
